Lake James Yacht Club

The Lake James Yacht Club is looking for individuals interested in sailing M-20's, MC scows and other sailboats to join us for weekends of racing and social events. Races are held at 10 AM on Lake James' First Basin with MC’s on Saturdays and M-20's on Sundays.  Fun races and moonlight sailing are some of the other sailing activities. The finale for the M-20 sailors is the Ray Harman Classic three-basin race held the weekend after Labor Day.
The LakeJames Yacht Club is affiliated with the M-20 Sailing Association, the International MC Class Sailboat Racing Association.  Each year our members travel to  regattas sanctioned by these organizations throughout the Midwest and Canada to compete at the highest level of scow sailing.  A growing fleet of MC Scows adds to the variety of sailing available in the LJYC.
In addition to exciting sailing action, LJYC is an active social organization involving sailors and their families with banquets and picnics at members' homes after each race.  We are an all-season club, with ice boating in the winter on Ice Skimmers and DN's.  Membership fees are very reasonable:  Family membership $10; racing fee $25 for one boat, $10 for each additional boat.
Our club would like to extend an invitation to anyone interested in sailing. Whether you are a beginning sailor interested in learning more about the exciting sport of sailboat racing or an experienced racer looking for an opportunity to test your skills in a responsive racing scow against top sailors, there is a place for you in the Lake James Yacht Club!
